# Will sensitive mental health notes be shared through Kenya's Shared Health Record?

**Answer:** The Data Exchange Regulations describe the shared health record as a longitudinal record of encounters, accessible to the client through the patient portal and to providers in the system. National guides such as the Kenya Patient Summary define minimum data elements. Psychotherapy and process notes are not needed for continuity of care and should not be sent. Share the minimum necessary, label sensitive resources (for example with FHIR confidentiality codes), and confirm with the Agency how restricted data is handled before you go live.
