**Answer:** Bring any referral letter, relevant scan or test reports, a current list of medicines, details of previous treatment, your insurance or payment details, and any brace, walking aid or equipment you use. Wear comfortable clothing that lets the affected area move and be examined, such as shorts, loose trousers, a T-shirt or sportswear. It also helps to bring a short list of your goals and questions. You are usually welcome to bring someone with you.

### In more detail

- Scans and reports help, but your physiotherapist will not rely on imaging alone.
- Bring walking aids or braces so their fit, use and safety can be checked.
- You can often stay clothed. If an area needs to be seen, the physiotherapist should explain why, ask for your consent and offer privacy.
- You can decline or pause any part of an examination and discuss alternatives.
- Do not delay urgent care because a document is missing; ask the clinic what is essential.

> **Important:** Protect personal health information when sending records electronically. Use the clinic's approved secure channel rather than ordinary messaging where possible.

> **Important:** If there is immediate danger or a medical emergency, contact emergency services now. In Kenya, call 999, 112 or 911. Outside Kenya, use the emergency number for your location.
