**Answer:** Check that counsellors and psychologists are licensed by the Counsellors and Psychologists Board, and that the provider has clear confidentiality rules, crisis escalation and referral routes, and reports only aggregated data. Ask how employees reach the service (phone, in person, online), what languages are offered, and how usage and outcomes are measured. WHO's 2022 guidelines recommend combining individual support with changes to how work is organised and with manager training, so an EAP alone is not a full strategy.
