**Answer:** Psychosis is when a person loses some contact with reality. They may hear or see things others do not, hold strong beliefs that are not true, or speak in a confused way. Early signs can include withdrawing from others, poor sleep and unusual suspicion. Psychosis is treatable and earlier help leads to better outcomes.
