**Answer:** Patient names, diagnoses, dates of birth, medical record numbers, national ID numbers, insurance and billing details and other clinical information should be kept out of public links, SMS and unsecured messages, analytics tools and technical logs. Share only what is needed through secure, approved channels. Under Kenya's Data Protection Act 2019, health data is sensitive personal data, so small leaks can cause real harm.

### Practical examples

Sensitive details can leak in small, everyday ways. A screenshot in a group chat or an error log can expose more than intended.

- Keep diagnoses and the reason for a visit out of SMS reminders.
- Do not put patient details in website links or email subjects.
- Avoid sharing patient information in personal messaging groups.
- Remove identifiers before sending data to analytics tools.
- Mask or exclude identifiers from error and audit logs.
