**Answer:** Check each clinician's registration and current practising licence with the right regulator: KMPDC for doctors, the Counsellors and Psychologists Board for counsellors and psychologists, and the relevant councils for nurses and clinical officers. Counsellor and psychologist licences run for one calendar year, so check them again every year. The Kenya Quality Model for Health expects personnel files to show registration with professional bodies. KMPDC also requires consent from professionals whose certificates are used to register a facility.
