Its Business Messaging Policy requires opt-in and prohibits using it for telemedicine or health information where regulations require stronger protections. Messages can be read on shared or unlocked phones, delivery is not guaranteed, and data passes through a foreign provider, raising cross-border questions. Bots cannot reliably judge risk. Use WhatsApp for reminders and signposting, keep clinical records in your EHR, and route any risk disclosure to a monitored human.
