**Answer:** The Mental Health Act gives you the right to affordable, accessible care, to choose your treatment and give written consent, and to take part in planning your care. You have the right to confidentiality, to see information about your health and records, to be protected from abuse and discrimination, and to equal legal rights. You may appoint a supporter to help with decisions and can complain about poor treatment.
