**Answer:** Yes, for KMPDC-licensed facilities. Section 15A of the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Act requires every health institution to insure itself each year against the professional liability of its staff, and KMPDC makes valid indemnity cover a condition for renewing the annual licence. Clinicians need their own cover too. The Quality Healthcare and Patient Safety Bill 2025 would also require facilities to check that staff and contracted providers are covered.
