**Answer:** The Bill would create a Quality Healthcare and Patient Safety Authority to register, license and accredit health facilities, including accreditation for SHA empanelment. Facilities would need a patient rights charter, incident reporting, annual safety audits, quality improvement programmes, quarterly quality indicators and professional indemnity cover. The National Assembly passed it with amendments in June 2026, and it then went to the Senate. Check whether it has become law and which provisions apply before changing systems.
