**Answer:** SHA can inspect financial records with seven days' notice for routine audits and 24 hours' notice in fraud investigations, and can ask for claim support within seven days. Keep each claim's file complete: verification and pre-authorisation references, the coded invoice, clinical documents and patient declarations. Reconcile claims to attendance registers and payments. Failing to produce documents lets SHA treat claims as unsupported and withhold or recover payment. Run internal sample audits each quarter.
