# How do we connect a mental health system to Kenya's national Health Information Exchange?

**Answer:** Under the Digital Health (Data Exchange Component) Regulations 2025, certified solutions are onboarded onto the Agency's enterprise service bus and use shared resources: the client registry, facility registry (with a Kenya Master Facility List code), health worker registry and the shared health record. Existing users of digital health solutions were given a deadline to onboard. In practice you need Digital Health Agency certification, conformance with the Kenya Core FHIR guide and relevant domain guides, and agreed security credentials. Engage the Agency early.
