**Answer:** Yes. Under the Counsellors and Psychologists Act, a licence is valid from 1 January to 31 December and must be renewed annually (section 29). Section 28 requires registration, compliance with continuing education and supervision requirements, and a valid practising licence before anyone practises. The Board has stated that practising without a valid licence is an offence. If a licence has lapsed for a year or more, renewal requires a sworn affidavit, current fees and evidence of meeting renewal conditions.
